Ashley Fay Feinauer (Eakin)
1950 - 2012

Ashley Fay Feinauer (Eakin) age 61, of South Range, Mich., passed away on March 26, 2012, at the Omega House. She was born on December 5, 1950, in Bay City, Mich., daughter of Elmer and Harriet (Gaiser) Feinauer. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School, Douglas MacArthur High School and graduated from Saginaw Valley College. Ashley worked at various jobs, but always returned to the one she loved the most, teaching and helping children. She was a teacher and Principal at the Elm River Township School in Winona and most recently, worked for the Adams Township School District at both the South Range Elementary School and the Jeffers High School in Painesdale, Mich. On August 21, 2008, she married Michael Eakin. She felt blessed to meet the three children and two grandchildren who would grow to mean so much to her. In return she was loved and respected and will be deeply missed. She was kind, gentle and optimistic. Her faith was strong and Ashley always sought to make things better. Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet; and an infant brother, Neil. She is survived by her husband, Michael Eakin of South Range; her father, Elmer Feinauer of Lansing, Mich.; mother-in-law, Lillian Nevanpera, a patient at Cypress Manor; daughters, Stephanie Eakin of South Range and Kimberly Eakin and fiance', Eric Grall of Joshua, Texas; son, Patrick Eakin (Johanna Klemett) of Toivola; two very special grandchildren, Kassidy Wooten of Joshua, Texas and Bradley Pyykkonen of South Range; brothers, Ken (Moira) Feinauer of Royal Oak, Mich., and Mark (Amy) Feinauer of Okemos, Mich.; nieces, Joslin (Michael) Monahan and son Anthony, Kylie (Anders) Lindquist and children Elin and Henry; nephews, Erik (Jacqueline) Feinauer and daughter Genevieve, Jon (Laura) Feinauer and Aaron Feinauer; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in South Range, Mich., with Pastor Bucky Beach to officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, at the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range, and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in South Range. Memorials may be made to the Adams Township School District Foundation, P.O. Box 37, Painesdale, MI 49955 in the name of Ashley Eakin.
