Larry A. Fess
1951 - 2018

Larry A. Fess passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the age of 66. He was born October 11, 1951 in Saginaw, MI the son of Harold and Dorothy (Hoernlein) Fess and was a graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School, Class of 1969. Larry, in his younger years, enjoyed riding dirt bikes. He enjoyed playing softball especially 1st base, hunting and fishing, was a member of the NRA and was an Army veteran. He loved watching NASCAR, Tiger baseball, Lions football, was a graduate of MSU and avid Spartan fan. Larry retired earlier this year as an Agronomist with Caledonia Farmers Elevator, Lake Odessa Branch. On June 22, 2001 he married Sue Holm and she survives him. Also surviving are three sons, Joshua (Tammy) Fess, Daniel (Amanda) Fess, and Troy Looney (Kylene Smale); two daughters, Laura (Nick) Schneider and Jessica Hethorn; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Fess; two sisters, Diane (Rick) Michael and Connie Fess (Dan Griffin) and a brother, Bill (Carol) Fess. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Kathleen Fess. Funeral services were previously held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Rest Cemetery with military honors provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family received relatives and friends Friday, September 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
