Patrick R. Flattery of Hemlock, formerly of Merrill, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Covenant-Harrison following a lengthy illness. Age 63 years.
The son of the late John and Jean (Bolton) Flattery was born July 20, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Ann M. Starr, January 29, 1977. She survives him. He retired from General Motors, Delphi Chassis Div, on December 1, 1999 after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. John XXIII, Sacred Heart Church. Prior to his failing health, Patrick was an avid reader, loved nature and being outdoors, hunting and being with his many family members. He was always ready for a family gathering. The last year of his life, he relished the joy of having his first grandson, moving to a new home and renewing those family connections at the wedding of his son and daughter-in-law on October 4, 2014.
Surviving besides his wife, Ann, are a daughter, a son and their spouses, Melissa and David Brandel Jr, Thomas Twp; Adam and Leslie Flattery, Merrill; his beloved grandchildren, Alexus, Ayrianna, Ainsley, and Bentley Brandel; his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Thomas and Jackie Flattery, Freeland, MI; John (Gary Rivard) Flattery, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Annette and Richard Adams, Birch Run, MI; Eileen and Donald Meyer, Hemlock, MI; Mary Ruckle, Thomas Twp; his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and their spouses, Patricia and James Mindykowski; Richard and Laura Starr; Robert and Patty Starr, all of Bay City, MI; David and Barbara Starr, Saginaw, MI; Mary and Marty Lagalo, Bay City, MI many nieces and nephews. A brother, Robert Flattery and a nephew Robert Eudis, have also predeceased him.
The funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at St. John XXIII, Sacred Heart Church, Merrill, MI. Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
