Michael Giszczak

 Michael Roland Giszczak 67, died peacefully on August 20, 2019 of cancer. He was born on November 29, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan to Thaddeus Giszczak and Irma (Myers) Giszczak. Michael married Rebecca Cavnar, on October 21, 1978 in Ann Arbor. He graduated from University of Michigan, with a Bachelor's and Master's in Music Education, and taught music briefly in the public schools. He worked in insurance sales for over 40 years, founding Arbor Insurance Agency in 1991. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who shared his love for music through his service at The Word of God Community and Christ the King Catholic Church. He composed and published music for the Catholic Mass and played many instruments, though his favorite was voice. He performed in The Lighthouse in the 1970's and in a musical trio, The Cornerstone, for over 30 years. He sang with the Ann Arbor Boys Choir and directed the Boys Glee Club of Huron Valley School in the 90's. He volunteered with Cub Scouts Pack 111 and Boy Scouts Troop 111 of Ann Arbor. He enjoyed reading about sports and his Catholic faith, and also enjoyed traveling to Colorado, Northern Michigan and Hawaii. His Family Michael will be missed by his wife, Rebecca; his children, John (Hongli) and Mark (Colleen); siblings, Richard (Elizabeth), Dennis and Mary (James) Morris; his grandchildren Emma, Joseph, Cecilia, David, Adam and Esther as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stephen.
