Smith, Gregory W. Charlevoix, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw. Died Friday, November 17, 2006, at his home. Age 55. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, at the First Baptist Church in Charlevoix, where friends may meet Greg's family and enjoy a light lunch from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Michael H. Dennis will officiate, and burial will follow at Antrim City Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Charlevoix, or to Northwest Michigan Community Health Agency-Hospice. The Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix is serving the family (231) 547-2881. Greg was born July 20, 1951, in Saginaw, to Kenneth R. and Marlene M. (Muehlfeld) Smith. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1969, and then graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in vocal music and secondary teaching certificate from Saginaw Valley State College in 1976. He moved to Charlevoix in 1979, and married the former Judith A. Denemy on April 14, 1981. He was Associate Broker/Owner of Vacation Properties Network and Boyne Realty of Charlevoix and Emmet Counties. Greg was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charlevoix, a charter member of the Charlevoix Country Club, and the Ruffed Grouse Society. He enjoyed bird hunting, golfing, instrumental and vocal music, and played keyboard and guitar at the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Judy; parents, Kenneth R. and Marlene Smith of Saginaw; sister, Debra A. (Derek) Black of Almont; father and mother-in-law, William I. and Patricia (Mort) Denemy of Petoskey.
