Doughty, Laura Grace Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Saturday, December 9, 2006, at St. Mary's of Michigan hospital. Age 55 years. Laura Grace Smith was born August 2, 1951 in Saginaw, the daughter of Robert E. and Lois (Fox) Smith. She married Douglas Doughty July 10, 1976 in Saginaw, he survives her. She was a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church. Laura worked as a social worker in Saginaw for many years. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Aaron Doughty and Sean Doughty both of Saginaw; her parents, Robert E. and Lois Smith, Saginaw; father and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Maxine Doughty, Saginaw; four brothers and a sister, Robert (Nean) Smith, Kalkaska; Eric (Laure) Smith, Freeland; Rebecca (Val) Geidans, Saginaw; James (Sue) Smith, Saginaw; John (Mary Jo) Smith, Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at the Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, 203 S. Michigan, Rev. Mary Ann Short will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
